A low cost engine monitor system which uses a PocketPC computer as the
display device.
The
EMON system converts a Compaq iPaq PocketPC computer into a full function
engine monitor and display system for experimental aircraft applications.
EMON includes an engine transducer interface module which connects to engine
transducers (uses standard engine transducers). The data is communicated
to the PocketPC for display. A program is also provided which allows use
of a personal computer to custom design the engine display gauges, including
parameters to be monitored, labeling, display ranges and colors, and alarm
limits.
The following are a summary of just some of the functions provided by
EMON.
- Displays
and records engine operating parameters including:
- Engine RPM
- Manifold Pressure
- Percent Power
- Fuel Pressure
- Fuel Flow
- Oil Temperature
